Malaysia Elephant Bean AA
Malaysia Elephant Bean AA is an exotic coffee cultivated in Malaysia, with a very outstanding flavor and unique taste that could be found in neither Arabica nor Robusta coffee. Belonging to the Liberica species, the beans are bigger in size and longer in shape. This coffee is mainly grown in small scales by farmers in Johor, Malaysia.
Malaysians have been long falling in love with Elephant Bean AA since the 1960s. It is commonly used for premium grade Kopi-O, and the taste continued to impress coffee lovers in espresso blends everywhere. Roasted slightly above medium brown in color, it offers a very long lasting aftertaste in the cup. It is powerful, bold with a seductive elephant odor. Due to overwhelming demand and limited local supply, it fetches premium pricing.
Today, Sai Kee Coffee has developed a series of premium quality coffee blends from Elephant Bean AA. Among them, they are Kopi Elephant and Malaysia Elephant Bean AA. We have cultivated 4 acres of Elephant Bean AA coffee in Muar, Johor for our own research and development. Given our tropical weather, futile soil and plenty of rainfall, it could be grown easily on flat land without losing its original taste in the cup. We encourage Malaysian farmers to look into coffee farming as an alternative commercial crop.
Sai Kee Coffee is committed in assisting enterprising farmers through buying back quality beans at a price higher than the determined market price. With the technical advice from MARDI and promotion effort from FAMA, the future for Malaysia Elephant Bean is bright. If there is a famous coffee that represents Malaysia in the world, it is definitely the Malaysia Elephant Bean AA.
